For my Honours Project for University I will be making a film based on Jon Snow from the TV series 'Game Of Thrones.' The first thing I did for the project was create a project plan so I had a schedule to follow to keep myself on track with it being such a long project. I then purchased seasons one to five of Game Of Thrones so that I had access to the footage. However, I had to find a way of ripping the footage off the discs into an MP4 format so that I could put the clips into Adobe Premier Pro for the edit. At first my thought was go to a family friend who has his own editing business and let him show me how to rip from the discs. When I contacted him he told me I could do it at home with two pieces of software. The first one is called DVD shrink which reads the disc and creates files then I had to use the second piece of software called 'Handbrake' which then converted the files into MP4 files which I could then edit with. I then ripped all the discs of season
one and started to create an edit of act 1 of the film. I also found a version of the the Game of Thrones theme tune but a cover by 'Enter Shikari' and I decided I'll use the cover for the opening sequence of the film.
